Bougainville is a horticulture dream.

There are so many flowers here including many orchid species endemic to Bougainville.

There is not much documentation regarding floral species especially the orchids but I was told that prior to the Bougainville Crisis, there was a controversy regarding the illegal smuggling of orchids out of Bougainville to Australia and other countries.

I do believe the orchid industry in Bougainville should be developed and all the species of orchids and other unique flowers of this area should be properly catalogued.

Wherever I stayed, I stole random shots of flowers. Enjoy and if you can, identify them as well. And if you have any great shots of Bougainville plants, please post images to the comment section.
